Abstract:
One of the most reliable and suitable bending methods for tubes and the profiles is flexible bending.
In this thesis, simulation and design of bending machine of thin-walled rectangular profiles with variable radius have been investigated. The bending machine follows a flexible bending method. This machine is consist of a driver die, a fixed die and a movable die that is attached to a fixed die in a spherical joint.The thin-wall profile which is filled with cerrobend alloy is placed on this device and passed through the fixed and movable die in the direction of the axis of the profile. The profile is bend by moving the movable die that is made by driver. Both fixed and movable are tangent into profile at any moment. Following the introduction of filler materials used in bending tubes and rectangular section bending methods, a history of activities that are carried out around the bending of the thin-walled profiles and flexible bends are mentioned. In the next section, the design of the device, which was performed by the solidwork software, is presented, and then the simulation process performed with the help of abaques software is described step by step. Finally, calculations have been made on the selection of the components of the device, and then the results of the simulation and the effect of the key parameters have been discussed.Comparison of simulation results with practical experiments shows the accuracy of simulation results.
