According to the widespread application of α-iminonitriles, the synthesis of this class of compounds has great importance. During the last few decades, several methods has been developed for the synthesis of α-iminonitriles compounds, many of them are multi-step, complex process and has limited scope.
Due to the advantages of heterogeneous catalysts and in the direction of development of simple, efficient and environmentally friendly catalytic methods, in this project using H5PV2Mo10O40 as a nanomagnetic catalyst for preparation of α-iminonitriles through the Strecker reaction has been reported in the presence of air atmosphere. Using this nanocatalyst has a wide affect in the simplification of the synthesis process of α-iminonitriles. Because, in addition to the catalytic application, the oxidizing affect of the catalyst, is reported in this project. Witch has substantially changed the synthesis process of α-iminonitriles. Several derivatives of α-aminonitrile have been synthesized by three component reaction of aldehydes, amines and trimethylsilyl cyanide. Some of these derivative are novel and have not been reported. The use of this magnetic heterogeneous catalyst cause increase in activity, easy purification method, high yield and short reaction time of resulting products.
