In this study, Fenton process, hydrodynamic cavitation (HC) alone, and in combination with hydrogen peroxide, ferrous sulfate, and Fenton process have been used in order to Decolorize the wastewater include of Congo red (an diazo dye in textile industries wastewater). Response Surface Methodology (RSM) based on Box-Behnkon has been utilized in order to design the experiments and predict the behavior of effective parameters. The solution initial pH (3-10), H2O2 concentration (0-1000 mg L-1) and FeSO4 concentration (0-50 mg L -1) have been investigated as the effective parameters on the decolorization. Synergetic coefficient of 2.82 achived from this study have been shown that combination process between hydrodynamic cavitation and Fenton process is most effective than each of individual processes. Maximum decolorization of 70% has been achivesd by combination of hydrodynamic cavitation and advanced oxidation in an acidic condition within 1 hour. In order to compare efficacy of the processes, in the same operating conditions, hydrodynamic cavitation alone and in combination with FeSO4, H2O2, and Fenton process resulted in 21%, 31%, 41% and 60% of decolorization, respectively.
