In this research, in the first step, a metal-organic framework based on zirconium and carboxylic acids with solvents including dimethylformamide, ethanol and water were synthesized by chemical method, with the aim of obtaining MOF, with the highest pore volume. At the Second stage, the MOF synthesized by ultrasonic method was applied to absorb lead ion. In the third step, TCNQ was used as a guest molecule to pores using a chemical method and a vacuum oven to enhance the electrical conductivity of the framework. To determine the structure and morphology of synthetic samples, microscopic methods, e.g. scanning electron microscopy, ultraviolet-absorption spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer, and inductively coupled plasma spectrometer were applied, and results showed that the presence of ethanol along with the MOF, has increased the crystallinity of MOF. Also, absorption of lead contaminants from water by the framework was investigated and the results indicate that lead is absorbed from water.
