The use of stone in architecture and interior design has historical background. Stone as a material is very valuable and has both physical and mental aspects. It is notable that natural stone is 3.5 billion years old and will never be produced. So, the stone which is used on the floor of our house is unique. Another superiority of the stone than the other materials is the non-repetition of its tiles, that is what nature has given us without a fee. and at least, the value of rock should be considered because the it is a Non-renewable resource. The use of decorative stones is an undeniable part of the monuments left from the ages and last centuries. and now the passage of time, the advancement of technology and access to various mines have diversified the use of construction stones.
In our country, due to the richness of abundant stone resources, people do not have enough knowledge about the benefits of these materials in instrumental usage such as architecture and construction. For this reason, we are planning to build a museum to introducing this material to the public and achieve this goal through own architecture of building.
Meanwhile, Isfahan is the main centers of stone production in Iran due to its geographic location and mineral density (Shariatpanahi,1386). Therefore, due to lack of space to preserve and introduce this material in the city, we will design the stone museum in order to achieve this by using technology.
