Abstract:
In this study, the MCM-41 catalysed agent was synthesized with Trimethoxy [3-[(oxiran-2-yl) methoxy] propyl] silane and metformin. Then, its catalytic activity was investigated in C-O and C-S cross-coupling reactions. For this purpose, MCM-41 was initially synthesized by sol-gel method. In the next step, the mesoporus was synthesized by Trimethoxy [3-[(oxiran-2-yl) methoxy] propyl] silane and then by metformin. Subsequently, copper metal was placed on it to show the high ability of the substrate to accept various species, including metals. Finally, the synthesized catalysts were identified in various ways such as EDX, SEM, TGA, XRD, and FT-IR. After preparation and identification of heterogeneous MCM-41 catalysed agent with Trimethoxy [3-[(oxiran-2-yl) methoxy] propyl] silane and metformin, its application in O-arylation reactions of phenols and S-Arylation of Thiophenols with Aryl Halides was investigated. First, reaction conditions such as catalysts, base type, solvent type, temperature and reaction time were optimized, high-performance reaction was performed. One of the advantages of this catalytic system is its heterogeneity and its separation from the reaction container and its high recovery capability.
