The purpose of this research is to investigate and analyze the critical success factors of accelerator companies in Iran. For this purpose, the literature and texts on accelerators are examined, and following the interview with the experts working on accelerators and startups, thirteen factors are described as factors affecting the success of accelerating companies based on different sources. Then, the significance of the effects of the proposed factors on the success of accelerator has been investigated. In the present study, interviewing and questioning tools were used to collect information used in the interview phase and interviewed with 8 experts. Then, using the questionnaire, 15 experts have participated. Following the above steps in the process of identifying the critical success factors of the accelerators in Iran, thirteen CFSs are (1) Networking, (2) Business expertise,(3) Quality of the program,(4) Mentorship,(5) Adaptability,(6) Product expertise,(7) Urgency created by time-limited program,(8) Funds,(9) Commercialization of startups,(10) Startups financial support,(11) Action-orientation,(12) Brand Value,(13)Government policy.
The present paper discusses most critical factors for the business accelerators in Iran with the help of an Interpretive Structural Model (ISM).
The MICMAC analysis is also conducted with the help of driving and dependence diagram, which states that factor 13 (Government policy), factor 7 (Urgency created by time-limited programme) and factor 5(Adaptability) are the major parameters for accelerators in Iran and needs more attention.
