In the first step of this project, a new magnetically responsive three-component nanocomposite consisting of ZnFe2O4, polythiophene and porphyrin was successfully prepared by coating of ZnFe2O4 nanoparticles with polythiophene and subsequent modification with tetrakis (4-carboxyphenyl) prophyrin (TCPP). The prepared ZnFe2O4@Polythiophene/TCPP nanocomposite was investigated by FT-IR, XRD, EDX, SEM, DRS and VSM techniques. In addition, photocatalytic–adsorption activities of prepared samples were carried out for removal of methyl orange, methylene blue and mixture of methyl orange and methylene blue in dark and under visible LED light irradiation. The results indicated that the synthesized nanocomposite not only shows excellent adsorption and photocatalytic activity for removal of MB and MO, but also can be separated easily by an external magnet and reused again. The photodegredation activity of ZnFe2O4@Polythiophene/TCPP nanocomposite for methyl orange removal was 94% after 180 min irradiation under visible light.
In the next step, a new three-component copper ferrite@polyaniline/porphyrin nanocomposite )CuFe2O4@PANI/TCPP ( was successfully prepared with magnetic cycling, adsorption and photocatalytic activity under visible light irradiation. The as-prepared nanocomposite has been characterized by FT-IR, SEM, TEM, EDX, XRD, VSM, TGA and BET techniques. The photocatalytic–adsorption activities of the synthesized nanocomposite were studied for removal of methylene blue and methyl orange and compared with those of pure CuFe2O4 and CuFe2O4@PANI nanocomposite. The fabricated CuFe2O4@PANI nanocomposite demonstrated high capacity in adsorption of methyl orange, as an anionic dye, with high efficiency, because the negatively charged groups of this dye undergo chemical interactions with the positively charged structure of polyaniline. The maximum adsorption capacity of CuFe2O4@PANI nanocomposite for methyl orange adsorption was 345.9 mg g-1. On the other hand, modification of the synthesized CuFe2O4@PANI nanocomosite with porphyrin greatly enhances its photocatalytic activity. The obtained results showed that the combination of CuFe2O4, PANI and TCPP exhibited an excellent performance for the removal of methyl orange and methylene blue. The synthesized nanocomposite can be easily recovered from the reaction medium by using an external magnet.
