Considering the increasing growth of urban areas and the creation of new settlements, an important issue is urban design. The issue of traffic safety in the structure and patterns of urban roads has been neglected by urban planners. This makes the area, although it is completely new, but does not have a good effect on the safety of traffic. Therefore, this study examines the risk of accidents in different patterns of grid network structure.
In this study, the traffic accident risk of 102 traffic areas of Mashhad city based on the average of accidents of 2008-2010 years in Mashhad city was obtained. In addition, according to the apparent characteristics, all of these areas are divided into five patterned, grid, tree, fragmented parallel, dissimilar blocks, and dissimilar blocks and tree. Using averages of degree and density network and Network Betweenees of the quantification of these areas have been done. Finally, the relationship between quantitative indices and network model with the risk of accidents has been investigated.
The results show that the average mean and centrality index, in contrast to the network density, has a high correlation with the risk of accidents, and also these indicators provide a clear definition of different patterns and are more suitable for network quantification, so the 1-index average of the degree, respectively From the side of the Grid to the tree, the descending trend is the chess pattern, the highest amount and tree pattern is the lowest, and this index is correlated with the risk of accidents.2 However, the network betweenees index is from the direction of the pattern of the grid to the tree of the ascending trend And also this index with the risk of accidents is correlation and inverse relationship. Finally, it has been determined that the most insecure grid network and tree network are the safest pattern than the rest of the patterns.
