Since the oil industry in Iran and also in other countries has more sensitivity in compare to other industries, the smallest carelessness in this field can impose serious risks on the economy of the country. So Comprehensive risk assessment in this area can be very useful in reducing the existing risks. For this reason, accuracy of risk assessment is considered as the most important factor in the present study.
In this study, based on discretion of experts , 234 hazards have been identified as high risks in the field of hydrocarbon exploration drilling operations. In order to estimate the effective indices of this area, since the imposing cost of each risk on project is the result of estimating the project delay time, fuzzy cost index and probability index of each risk are used.
The present study identifies the effective risks in exploratory drilling of hydrocarbon resources. Their categorization, applying z-number method to fuzzy data, graphic data analysis, data analysis using risk assessment matrix, risk prioritization, validation of methodology, the Pareto method and planning of the risk response are discussed and at last the accurate results are obtained.
