In this project two high speed train’s nose ICE2 and ICE3 made in Germany, are being investigated by FLUENT commercial software and are being improved by means of ADJOINT software during several steps. Also, in this booklet, important settings for solving fluid flow in FLUENT and ADJOINT softwares and description to modify the goal in ADJOINT software that is reducing the Drag coefficient, are described.
Finally, it is concluded that in accordance with changes happened in two noses, Drag coefficient in ICE2 reduced approximately 5.3% and in ICE3 reduced approximately 2.26%. Also, final geometry for two train noses is more elongated in comparison to initial geometry.
