Social sustainability in urban areas is only possible with an emphasis on equality and social justice and it aims to improve living conditions and should be considered as a process of accessing the highest quality of social life to communities, so recognizing these communities and values is significant. Their cultural and identity, and ultimately their efforts to preserve these values for future generations and keep them in sync with the changing times, are important. On the other hand, the effective presence of these spaces in today's societies can fill the void of attractive communal spaces and enhances the quality of life, thus in this applied research, concepts such as social sustainability and their identification criteria have been investigated. Different approaches to regeneration and sustainability and socialization were examined using descriptive-analytical methods. Then, with the help of urban design, these qualities were raised and regenerated.
In this regard, the social sustainability of Tehran's Keshavarz Boulevard, which is part of the city's historical identity and has played a more active role in different fields in the not-so-distant periods of the city's history, has been studied through community-based regeneration. Its potential was limited and measures were proposed to improve the sustainability and socialization criteria.
This applied research with interpretive approach and emphasis on non-statistical and analytical method and using documentary studies and field research to collect data from questionnaire (based on Likert spectrum) have been used after confirming the reliability of questionnaire by Cronbach's alpha method. The sample size was 150 persons, the questionnaire data were analyzed using SPSS software and the indices included comfort and convenience components, environmental considerations, proportional functional facilities and experimental-aesthetic domain. Using 5 expert opinion and using Expert choice software, higher score indices were selected to select the best scenario. Finally, using analysis and results obtained, the design was presented to regeneration social sustainability of Keshavarz Boulevard.
