City developing in contemporary world, with a great gap with its background, is based on automobiles and spaces
which belong to pedestrian and their importance to create livability are not concerned as they deserve. Pedestrianonly
street is one of the most important urban spaces reserved for pedestrian only use.it can be just for some
particular hours of a day or for all times. Preservation of city -center function, simplification of accessibility, reduction
of traffic, improvement of perspective and reduction of pollution are the advantages of pedestrianisation. On the other
hand, creating pleasure and vitality with feeling livability in urban spaces is one of the most important needs of
human-being which these days are not felt anymore. Livability is directly in relation with people’s presence in urban
spaces and their social interactions, and streets with visual, physical and functional charm can motivate people to
presence in urban spaces. Lalezar, is a valuable street because of its cultural background, which was a very livable,
spirited and attendant place and it is not any more; that’s why re- designing this street is very important. According to
pedestrianization concept which is the importance of pedestrian priority and this causes mixed land use, variety of
activities and it makes the streets an appropriate place for social interactions ; we can say pedestrianization can be an
effective acion in order to bring the livability back to the Lalezar. Key words: Vitality – livability – pedestrian only
