Today, the use of renewable energy, such as wind turbines and solar power plants, has been widely considered. These distributed power generation networks, along with their many advantages, make the power generation and transmission systems more complex. Therefore, it's time to move from usual monitoring systems to advanced systems. In recent years, modern monitoring systems based on phasor measurement units have attracted a lot of attention. If traction power systems also want to use these power sources in the near future, they should necessarily upgrade their existing monitoring systems. In this study, we first examined the SCADA system of Tehran Metro, which are only available for lines 1 and 2, and then, with the criterion of traction load flow as a reference for measurements, the process of state estimation using the least squares method for a traction system is done.The accuracy of the phasor measurement units as well as the performance of the state estimation method using RMSE have been investigated.
