The Precision of predictions is the main challenge of the problem that depends on cognition of the influence parameters on forming opinions. Nowadays, various factors have been identified that affect users’ opinions. These include users’ previous opinions and connections on social media. Besides, there are other factors such as events, social developments, etc are that play an important role in forming users’ opinions.
In this thesis, we aim to recognize the factors that affect users' opinions based on two theories of social comparison theory and cognitive dissonance theory. According to these theories, people in the same group have similar norms. They compare their behavior and beliefs with those in the same group and change them accordingly. Results show that by considering similar users and users’ opinion dynamics as influential factors the precision of the predictions up to 7% in comparison to the previous work.
