This research aimed at exploring the relationship between teachers’ characteristics and use of the internet as an assistance in teaching. In details, the objectives were (1) to determine the most frequently used technological tools for teaching language skills and components in EFL classes in Iran, (2) to determine the relationship between language skills/components and the type of ICT tools, (3) to determine the relationship between Iranian EFL teachers’ personal characteristics and ICT use in teaching English, (4) to determine the relationship between Iranian EFL teachers’ technology-related characteristics and ICT use in teaching English, (5) to determine the level of Iranian EFL teachers’ personal internet teaching efficacy, and (6) to determine the relationship between Iranian EFL teachers’ personal internet teaching efficacy and ICT use. A total number of 126 teachers working in Mashhad Private language institutes participated in this study, who took the ICT Use Rating Scale, Scale for teachers’ personal characteristics, Scale for teachers’ technology-related characteristics, and Personal Internet Teaching Efficacy Beliefs Scale. The results proved that there was no significant difference between the language skills/components and the type of ICT tools. Moreover, there was a strong positive correlation between age and ICT use. Also, there was a negative correlation between gender and ICT use. Also, there was a strong positive correlation between teaching experience and ICT use. Finally, there was a negative correlation between Academic Credentials and ICT use. Moreover, there was a strong positive correlation between Computer Ownership and ICT use. There was a strong positive correlation between Computer use and ICT use. There was a strong positive correlation between internet use and ICT use. Finally, there was a negative correlation between internet efficacy and ICT use.
