The present research is defined by understanding the need to determine the maturity of the organization and knowing specifically what it is. The purpose of describing this research in the first step is to determine the factors and indicators for measuring the level of maturity of manufacturing companies in the implementation of continuous improvement techniques.
To achieve the drawn goal, various indicators were counted, and the manufacturing companies developed the proposed model. A review of the extensive literature on continuous improvement (CI) discussion, including definitions, approaches and models, history, and evolution, eventually led to a comprehensive model.
The proposed model has a close conceptual similarity with the Basnet model and benefits from four dimensions of human resources, marketing management, production management, and financial management along with a large number of indicators.
In achieving the final model, a questionnaire and confirmatory factor analysis were used, so that the initial model extracted from the literature review along with various indicators in the form of 4 dimensions suggested by experts and experts were consulted, collecting expert opinions in the first step of the index. Unrelated items were removed and in the next step, using a hierarchical analysis process, a pairwise comparison of the four dimensions and sub-indices was performed.
Calculating the level of maturity of manufacturing companies is a function of the points obtained in the weighted indicators, which are classified into one of six levels by the proposed method. To confirm the model and the final indicators derived from factor analysis, the final model was tested in a knowledge-based company. Among the innovations of the present study, we can mention the presence of a model for manufacturing companies and its specific indicators, the use of statistical techniques in confirming the final indicators, and the formulation of a computational model.
