The science of wear, Friction and lubricontion is called Tribolojy. Wear is the yrodual erosion or deformarion of a solid surface as a result of moving or slidiny ofthat surface on a conting sabstance. Lubrication is the process employed to reduce wear by opplying a lubricant between the two moving surfaces incontact. A proper lubriween can reduce energy costs and also Increase lonyevity of engine components. Oil is a fiquid lubricont consists of base oil and a number of additives. Anti wear (AW). Extrem pressare. Anti oxidon. Anti corrosion. AW additives reduce wear by Frminy a sarface Film (caltod tribofrlm) throagh surface adsorption of the additive molecules. In this reserch new compounds benzotriazole and Imidazolum based Ionic liqaids (ILS) have been synthesized, Anion contains 3 5 , TFSA, FAP. The ILS were Identified by H-NmR and FT-IR techniques. The tribopoyical tests provad thut the ILS act as on effectiveanti-Friction, anti-wear and extreme pressure (AW/EP) and antianidation additives. Performance studies Indicated that the synthesizad ILS Impartexcellont. The elemental analysis prorod absence of toxic and danyerous elements In the lubricant. The results also cenfirmed that synthesicod Ils can act as on Ideal sinyle compenet packaye additive In the lubricant Industry.
