In planning for tourism development, various dimensions such as economic, natural, social, etc. should be consider with environmental considerations.
Attracting tourists from places of interest and national and ancient monuments requires planning.
Due to the vastness of valuable historical and natural monuments of Alamut region and its unique nature, it also needs to be planned in the field of tourism.
Therefore, in the present research, which emphasizes on sustainable development using environmental capabilities, while trying to find a selected strategy, operational plans are also presented to develop tourism in the region.
In fact, environmental capabilities are a set of environmental abilities, talents and potencies which exist in the natural-social and economic environment of research.
And planning with the sustainable development paradigm uses today's talents to develop the region without threatening the environment and the needs of the next generation in the region.
This research is descriptive-analytical and its research method is quantitative and qualitative. First, by studying the textual critics and experiences, the indicators were identified and extracted and verified by using the Delphi method.
Then the area will identify based on these indicators and points (strengths-weaknesses and opportunities-threats) and then four step strategies are extracted by SWOT method.
Finally, the IE matrix is used to determine the final strategies according to the Freed.R. David model and the strategies are prioritized by using the QSPM model.
The results of the research show the dominance of weaknesses over strengths and opportunities overcoming threats, and the effective strategy for tourism planning in the region is a conservative strategy.
Strategies are edited and prioritized based on this type.
Then, based on the selected strategy, policies and action plans are determined and has been presented.
Increase the safety of activity and biological centers to prevent natural hazards, increase public participation, promote tourism based on environmental considerations by creating a tourism program in Alamut, expanding tourism facilities and upgrading the infrastructure lattice, are some of the most important tourism strategies in Alamut which is based on this research.
