Phthalates are commonly used in the plastics industry as softeners (plasticizers). These compounds have many risks to human health. Therefore, extracting and measuring their small amounts has been considered today. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are also a large group of environmental carcinogens that are harmful to human health due to their resistance to the environment and their presence in various environments. Therefore, their determination in environmental samples is an important analytical problem. Due to the very low concentrations of the compounds being analyzed and the complexity of some natural samples, it is difficult to completely remove them by conventional methods; therefore, it is necessary to first extract the analytes from the sample and concentrate and then analyze. In this thesis, solid phase microextraction / gas chromatography has been used to extract the bis (2-ethylhexyl) of phthalates as well as Naphthalene, Phenanthrene, Acenaphthylene, Acenaphthene and Anthracene. The coating synthesized in this study is knitted phenyltrimethoxy silane, and placed on silica fiber using a chemical bond. In order to achieve the best efficiency for the extraction of bis (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate, various factors that affect the extraction process, such as extraction temperature and time, and stirring speed, were studied by the central composite design. Then, under optimal conditions, the linear range was in the range of 0.2-5000 ng/ml with a correlation coefficient of 0.9977, and the detection limit and the limit of determination were equal to 0.05 and 0.15 ng/ml, respectively. In order to extract PAHs, various factors such as extraction temperature and time, stirring speed, salt effect, temperature and desorption time were investigated. The limit of determination the method varies in the range of 0.05-0.29 and the limit of determination varies in the range of 0.14-0.85, the calibration curves of Naphthalene, Phenanthrene, Acenaphthylene and Anthracene are linear in the range of 1-1000, and Acenaphthene in the range of 1-2000 ng/ml. The relative standard deviation for PAH compounds, as a measure of reproducibility, varies in the range of 2.0-10.3 Also, the relative recovery percentage was in the range of 95.4-110.7.
