BIM is a process of combining information and technology to create a digital representation of a project that integrates multi-resource data and, in parallel with the actual progress of the project in its timeline, all project information, construction information using parametric modeling capabilities in the design phase. An integrated change control system causes changes in one part of the model to be considered in other parts of the project and reduces the likelihood of changes in the execution phase. The use of BIM tools during design phase to more accurately examine options and performance indicators, given that it is done in the early stages of work is very valuable in optimizing the design and reducing costs. Studies have shown that the design phase is very important in the overall success of the project and includes the success of the building information modeling system, including design specifications, construction and operational information. Modeling technology in the design phase allows the project to maintain its buildability and economic efficiency during the construction period and even after construction. Therefore, in the present study, the factors affecting the success of the BIM system in the design phase of construction projects have been investigated. By reviewing the literature and research background and focusing on the results of other researchers, 24 of the most important and repetitive factors affecting the success of the building information modeling system in the design phase of the project have been identified and extracted. Then, the success factors of information modeling in the design phase were combined by combining AHP, ENTROPY and TOPSIS. The defined model avoided personal orientation in the weights due to the combination of both subjective and objective methods in weight calculation and a more reliable output was obtained. The most important factors for the success of modeling construction information in the design phase, due to its impact on the overall success of the project, are the factors of effective coordination regarding design change and Promoting interoperability of different disciplines from the beginning of the project. The results of this research have been validated by comparing the model with VIKOR method.
