In the past years, until today, the design of bridges has increased due to the development of cities and, the expansion of clean transportation systems, the need to build pedestrian and bicycle bridges. The construction of such bridges is mainly in the city centers. It is full of traffic, and it is for this reason that these complex structures find a German use and an urban symbol. Over the years, the design of pedestrian bridges has undergone significant changes in such a way that they have changed from merely connecting structures to urban, symbolic, and indicative elements in cities, in a way that today, in the modern world, for the design of bridges, two architectural knowledge, and The structure requires the most cooperation. The national competition titled "Bridge of Life," organized by Shiraz City Municipality, to design a pedestrian and bicycle bridge for the symbolic continuation of the interrupted green body in Shiraz city provided a platform for this research. The main goal and challenge of this research are to reach a common language between the two primary pieces of knowledge of architecture and structure for designing bridges and similar structures. About 30 bridges have been studied, and as a result, it led to the appropriate selection of the structural system for the desired bridge. Also, using the new topic (structural steel/exposed architecture or AESS), which is a part of this research, led to the detailed design. Moreover, architectural details consider their practicality in structure as part of the design language.
