Today, the phenomenon of tourism has become global and various forms of it have been formed. One of the most growing and valuable sectors of this industry is health tourism, which is classified into three groups: medical tourism, wellness tourism, and natural therapy tourism. Medical tourism refers to the trips that the tourist has visited to obtain medical and treatment services inside or outside the country. Among the reasons and importance of this trip, we can mention the cost (price) of treatment in the country of origin, which due to the heavy cost of treatment, the tourist cannot afford to pay the cost in his own country and decides to go to a country that In terms of treatment cost, it should be cheaper and preferably with good treatment quality. Also, the next thing is the quality of treatment, the tourist may be dissatisfied with the quality of treatment in his country and decide to travel to a country that offers better quality treatment. In the current research, in addition to comprehensive studies and reviews in the field of health tourism, the experiences and background of this issue, the regional development of health tourism with the approach of regional planning (ten health regions with planning considerations) has been addressed. In the following, according to the regionalization in the country and the placement of medical sciences universities in each region, the statistics and information of foreign medical tourism clients during the years 1396 to 1400 were collected from the Health Tourism Secretariat, Ministry of Health and Facial Treatment. accepted. In the analysis stage, the current situation was first addressed and the analysis was done through the nearest neighbor distance statistic and group analysis. According to the results of the analyzes conducted from 1396 to 1400, the most foreign health tourists referring to Iran among 113 countries of the world, Afghanistan - Iraq - Pakistan - Azerbaijan - Oman and the most hospitals of medical sciences universities that are of interest to tourists. Foreign health is located: Tehran University of Medical Sciences located in the 10th health zone - Mashhad University of Medical Sciences located in the 9th health zone and Qom University of Medical Sciences located in the 6th health zone. Also, most foreign health tourists stayed and received services in these 3 cities (Tehran, Mashhad, Qom). In the end, according to the analyzes and according to the research questions, to present a vision statement and based on that, to express the goals, strategies and policies and solutions in order to build capacity and promote the spatial development of medical tourism to Separation was done in the regions.
