Due to the limited resources of fossil fuels, the negative impact of their combustion on the environment, many countries around the world are currently using renewable energy sources such as solar energy, wind energy, biofuels, hydropower, Geothermal and ocean energy have turned to ensuring the security of energy development in their country. Biodiesel is a type of biofuel that is renewable, biodegradable, and has similar properties to fossil diesel fuel. The researchers reported that although the use of biodiesel in a diesel engine reduces engine power slightly, the emissions of harmful pollutants are significantly reduced. In fact, biodiesel has the potential to be used as an alternative fuel in diesel engines to alleviate the energy crisis and environmental crisis. Among biodiesel sources, algae have many advantages. Iran also has many sources of algae in different parts of the country.
In this study, the microalage chlorella vulgaris was selected as a source of biodiesel production and then produced and extracted in 5 stages from 200 cc to 8,000 liters. Reviewed that After cultivating and separating it from the culture medium and drying it as a powder, the oil was extracted from the powder and converted the oil produced to biodiesel. Finally, the produced biodiesel fuel was added to pure diesel fuel at 10 % and was tested in a vertical single -cylinder, four -stroke, natural breathing engine at 500, 800 and 1200 rounds and twice different times.
The results of this study show that CO and HC emissions from 10B biofuels compared to pure diesel fuel in low rounds will be slightly increased and then fixed, but the highest increase in CO emissions is 0.02 %, which is a small amount. It is reduced and the pollution values of 〖CO〗_2 and 〖NO〗_X from 10B biofuels are reduced compared to pure diesel fuel. The highest decrease 〖CO〗_2 and 〖NO〗_X was 60 % and 20 %, respectively. The engine output of the 10B bio -fuel engine was not much different from pure diesel fuel at minor loads, but for higher loads, the engine output increased slightly
