Abstract
At the end of the 18th century and at the same time as the Qajar era, the process of industrialization started in Iran, and in the first Pahlavi period, a new form of industrial thinking and architecture entered the country. In the past, industrial complexes were far from urban centers, but nowadays they are within the city limits due to the expansion of the city, which stopped the activity of these industrial institutions due to environmental awareness. The emergence of abandoned factories in the vicinity of residential structures has caused problems for city dwellers, including environmental and social problems and visual pollution of urban landscapes. Considering the historical, identity, scientific, architectural, technical and social values of the industrial heritage, today the revival and adaptive reuse of this group of urban landscapes is important, and what was seen as a threat at the beginning, is now an opportunity. it has. Varamin Sugar Factory is a remnant of the industrialization era and a part of Iran's architectural history. The main goal of the current research is to revive the Varamin sugar factory according to the adaptive reuse approach and to investigate its effect on the promotion of identity, urban landscape and environment; And the answer to the question, does the revitalization of Varamin sugar factory by using the adaptive reuse approach play a role in improving the triple identity, landscape and environment? For this purpose, the general method of conducting this research is a combination (quantitative, qualitative) which includes two parts: 1- case sample analysis and 2- survey part. The research method in the case sample section is of a qualitative type and the case samples have been analyzed by argumentative and inductive methods; And in the survey part, it is a quantitative and qualitative type of research that has been analyzed by descriptive-argumentative and comparative method; In this section, in order to evaluate the opinion of experts and citizens of Varamin, two Likert-type questionnaires were designed, and the relevant questions in each questionnaire were based on the components affecting identity, landscape and environment, which were extracted from the theoretical foundations section, and the analyzes A number has been done using spss software and finally the results obtained in this section were compared with the opinions of experts in this field. The results of the survey in this research show that Varamin Sugar Factory is a valuable example due to its outstanding architectural potential, suitable urban location, environmental and historical-cultural characteristics, and belonging to the urban community, and cultural investment and reuse in The same protection of heritage values will preserve socio-cultural values, economic and environmental sustainability, and as a result, it is a factor for promoting identity, landscape and environment.
