Abstract Today, more than half of the world's population has settled in cities, and with the increase in welfare and lifestyle changes, the use of private cars has created a problem called the increase in traffic congestion in the city. In the big cities, the problem of increasing traffic and car congestion, while increasing the travel time, has caused the production of noise and environmental pollutants, which has made life in the cities difficult. Today, the leading countries in the field of transportation have adopted the approach of using sustainable transportation by adopting compassionate and effective policies. One of the important pillars of sustainable transportation is the use of pedestrians and bicycling in the name of non-motorized transportation. The current research examines the use of bicycles and pedestrians in the cities of the world and Iran, and with modeling and "the goal of optimal traffic distribution in urban roads, it determines the amount of effective factors in the development of motorized transportation as a tool". To carry out this research, criteria have been considered by studying previous researches and current field studies, and with the opinion of experts, they have been converted into questionnaires for users. Then, with the help of the hierarchical analysis method and the help of spreadsheet software and eva‎luation techniques, we have investigated and reported the accepted area of ​​criteria for increasing motor transport in the study area.
