Optimal Location of a Logistics an‎d Support Center for Military Forces; A Case Study of the Navy of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army

Optimal location of a logistics an‎d support center for military forces is of great importance. Choosing the right location for this logistics center allows the army to provide the necessary support, distribute resources, an‎d facilitate the implementation of military operations in the region. This study examines the optimal location of a logistics an‎d support center for Iranian military forces in the Gulf of Aden region. Given the importance of maritime security, fuel an‎d equipment supply, an‎d the need to respond quickly to threats in this strategic region, choosing the right location for such a center has been analyzed from operational, security, economic, an‎d logistical aspects. Using multi-criteria decision-making models such as (AHP) an‎d geographic information system analyses, criteria such as distance from sea routes, access to friendly ports, geographic security, deployment cost, an‎d defense capability have been eva‎luated. The main objectives of this research include establishing an effective an‎d flexible logistics organization, improving efficiency an‎d productivity in military operations, enhancing the ability to support an‎d meet military needs in the region, an‎d improving the performance of the Navy of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army.
