Abstract
Any of the Historical urban spaces have potentialities which are not known
at the first glance. After preliminary studies we can achieve various tourism,
cultural and educational benefits.
The case, studied in this research, is “si-e tir street museum”.
The main purpose of this research is to recreate and reconstruct an urban
space with many different religions, historical & social attractions.
Heavy traffic, narrow width of the street & the wall on both sides (which
separate the passers by & the architectural beauty) has made one of the most
attractive and energetic streets silent & without spirit.
Si-e Tir Street has many attractions to become a unique street museum.
Si-e tir was name after Amin o sultan, Naserodin shah’s prime minister. It’s
been also the residence of political & cultural figures in different eras.
The first freemasonry was formed in this street. Two of the most influential
embassies in Tehran have been formed under the shadow of this street.
The biggest urban complex in Tehran which is “Meydan-e Mashgh” is
located on eastern side of Si-e tir, a complex which is one of the most
significant spots in Tehran.
Ministry of foreign affairs, Iranian national museum, Malek library and
museum, Post & Tale communication museum Art University are located in
this area.
In this research, after studying the location of this street in Tehran we are
trying to find some ways to increase the relationship & connections between
Si-e Tir Street & historical districts in Tehran which changes the function of
this street to a special place to feel relaxed & comfortable.
At the moment, many cars go through Si-e tir street as an axis in that area
